Distribution of Nutrients in the Coastal Waters of the Bay of Bengal

چکیده
to18 th Febrauary 2013 in the coastal waters of the Bay of Bengal. Marked variations observed with respect to almost all nutrients determined. The detectable ranges of ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and silicate were 0.026-23.52, 0.018-0.41, 0.026-4.46, 0.18-7 and 0.37-20.31μM respectively. The higher concentrations of nutrients were observed on 15 th February 2013. Among these five nutrient species studied, silicate showed more pronounced variability. Surface and bottom differences were high with respect to nutrients concentration. Increased mixing water caused by increased wind and wave reaction causes the variation in concentration of nutrients was observed in this study area.

Diversity and distribution of larval and juvenile fish in nearshore waters of the Southeastern Caspian Sea and Gorgan Bay
Occurrence and distribution of larval and juvenile fish was investigated in nearshore waters of the southeastern Caspian Sea including the Gorgan Bay. Samples were collected during seven surveys using a fine mesh beach-seine in five sampling sites from July 2014 to June 2015. A total of 15500 individuals mostly juvenile were captured, representing 18 species from 8 families. Most juveniles belo...

متن کاملA study on the composition of size-fractionated suspended particulate matter in shallow coastal waters of Chabahar Bay
Abstract In the present study, sampling and analysis of size-fractionated suspended particulate matter (SPM) in coastal waters of Chabahar Bay have been done for the first time. Sampling has been conducted on December 25 of 2018 from 5 stations in different locations of the Bay in order to evaluate the effects of natural and human activities on SPM mass and composition. With an overall average...
متن کاملA BOUNDARY-FITTED SHALLOW WATER MODEL OF SIMULATE TIDE AND SURGE FOR THE HEAD BAY OF BENGAL – APPLICATION TO CYCLONE SIDR (2007) AND AILA (2009)
Severe Tropical Cyclones associated with surges frequently hits the coastal region of Bangladesh. For a reliable hydrodynamic model to simulate the severity of such cyclones, it is necessary to incorporate the meteorological and hydrological inputs properly. In order to incorporate the coastlines and the island boundaries properly in the numerical scheme a very fine grid resolution along the co...
متن کاملInvestigation of the Flood Effect on Environmental Parameters of Gorgan Bay
Abstract In mid-March 2019, severe floods occurred in the northern provinces of Iran (Golestan and Mazandaran). Coastal areas, wetlands and bays are strongly influenced by water inputs from land. In this study, the nutrients (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, silica and ammonium) and other physicochemical parameters (salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen and water temperature) at 8 selected stations in th...
